Brady Ferdig is a director, photographer, and cinematographer based in San Diego. Born and raised in Southern California, he took to skateboarding at an early age which sparked the interest to document that lifestyle. Later he realized that photographing surfers proved to be more exciting. Every wave is unique, and every photograph of a wave is no different. If your settings are wrong or you miss the angle, it will never break the exact same way again; that's the thrill. The surfers he captures are purposely unknown, usually silhouettes, this allows the viewer to imagine themselves as the subject. Unlike many photographers, Brady doesn't chase bokeh. He prefers to shoot with a closed down aperture so he can capture as much detail from foreground to background. His specialty is high speed motion photography and landscapes.
