At 70, Carlsbad artist Debby Fleming Mellor is proving it’s never too late to pursue a lifelong dream. After putting art aside for family and work, the former insurance claims adjuster rediscovered painting through fine art classes and recently made her first art sale. With support from her husband, crossword writer Myles Mellor, Debby now turns travel photos into paintings inspired by places around the world. Her story is a reminder to follow the creative calling you may have set aside, no matter your age.
