KUSI News with Kate Joiner for ArtWalk Little Italy 2025

On the rainy morning of March 13th, I had the unique experience of being featured on KUSI News as a highlighted artist for this year’s ArtWalk Little Italy. The day started early—and wet—as I loaded my artwork into the news studio with rain pouring down around me. At the station, I was greeted by someone I kind of recognized: Tommy Sablan, also known as "Little Tommy." He helped me get everything set up and made the morning feel a little less hectic. I was there alongside Jacob Rocha, who represented ArtWalk and shared details about the upcoming event, happening April 26th and 27th.

The news crew was incredibly welcoming, and once my pieces were in place, anchor Lauren Phinney arrived to do the interview. By now, interviews don’t make me too nervous, and I think (hopefully!) it came out well. Although I don’t have a clip of the segment, it was definitely one of those fun, unforgettable moments. Being invited to represent ArtWalk Little Italy was such an honor, and getting to share a bit of my work and story on live TV—rain and all—was a surreal and exciting part of this creative journey.
