An art opening Friday night at Cicada Fine Art in Palm Springs to coincide with this weekend's pride celebration. The exhibition of ‘Slay the Canvas’ by artist Rene Porter featuring portraits of drag performers in full face painted as fine art portraits.
Many of the drag performers who were featured in the exhibit were at the gallery for the opening. Morgan McMichaels and Vanity Halston both expressed how honored they were to be asked to participate.
'Slay the Canvas' will continue on display through the end of the month at Cicada Fine Art on North Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.
